Support A Student Program

Support a Student Scholarship Program Description

The Support a Student Scholarship Program was created to help economically disadvantaged students who are at risk of dropping out of school due to lack of financial support.  Many students do not receive enough financial support to complete their education goals. They must work and go to school at the same time, and cannot handle the pressure of doing both; or they simply can’t come up with enough money to pay for non-tuition related expenses such as rent, childcare, and groceries while going to school.  This program identifies these students, and prevents them from dropping out of college by reducing this type of financial pressure.

This program is not your typical Scholarship program.  Recipients of this Scholarship will have payments made on their behalf for non-tuition related expenses that are not
being covered by their current financial aid amounts.  Payments will not be sent directly to the student; rather Education Aid will pay for the expenses directly.  The student will be required to provide all the relevant supporting documentation necessary to validate any expenses being paid for on their behalf.  Funding for the Program is used to provide financial support to students attending any post secondary institution.

In order for students to qualify for the program, they must receive some type of financial aid, and be in good academic standing with their College or University.  Only students attending an accredited school or job training program will be able to submit an application for support.

Education Aid will work with any company, organization, or individual to create a Scholarship Program that meets their mission and values.  If you are interested in sponsoring a Scholarship Program yourself; or making a general contribution to the Support a Student Scholarship Program, please contact Karyn Balfour at
